We started Alice in Blockchains because we recognized the low numbers of women in the web3 space. Our mission is simple: provide practical education, drive real opportunities for new professionals, and highlight the women who are already succeeding in this space.

2018

The First Connection

Alice In Blockchains was from a realization that while blockchain technology is inclusive by design, its social ecosystem was predominantly male-dominated. A small group of enthusiasts in Zagreb, Croatia met to change the narrative.

2023

Web3 Tales

The two-day conference, organized exclusively by members and volunteers from Alice in Blockchains, was the first web3 conference in Zagreb as well as the first web3 conference where over 70% of the speakers and panelists were women!

2024

Web3 Tales - DeFi Detangled

With 28 global experts and 400 attendees, the event was a deep dive into the world of Decentralized Finance (DeFi), filled with everything from tech insights to fostering community connections. It was a day that truly brought DeFi to Zagreb!

2026

New Leadership

Alice in Blockchains was built to create lasting impact beyond any single individual. As the organization evolved, governance evolved with it. Alice in Blockchains continues to thrive through shared leadership and the collective efforts of its members, volunteers, partners and supporters.

How Alice got its name

We often get asked about our name, and it’s a mix of two favorites.

Inspired by Alice in Wonderland, the first part captures the adventurous spirit of exploring the complex new web3 world.

The second part, inspired by Alice in Chains, brings in the edge. It reflects the strength and pioneering spirit of this space and our members.
